The final battle between Kain and Raziel.
They have never been enemies, but mistaking the reasons of their actions turned one against the other.

Raziel was Kain's first lieutenant, and loyally served him, so he he didn't understood why Kain damned him into the abyss. He believed he was thrown into the abyss simply by Kain's jealousy: he thought by growing wings he surpassed his master, and it was the reason of his damnation. All he wanted was to take revenge on Kain for his "betrayal". Raziel was lead by his rage, and didn't noticed he became the key figure in a game that had far more higher purposes than personal revenge...until the end. (Although he discovered so many things in Nosgoth's history, his'benefactors' Elder and Moebius as they carefully hidden the truth from him)
He survived the Abyss, but revenge was not his destiny.
He didn't surpassed Kain. There were no betrayal, no chase and no rivalry.
He was the key to Nosgoth's salvation, and his destiny was not to kill Kain, but to heal him from the corruption that infected all guardians and the Pillars they guarded, and finally when the wraith blade was completed, he had to enter the physical blade to become it's soul, and make it to be the deadliest weapon that can carry out victory for the vampire race.

Kain knew this (or suspected it) all along. Perhaps it was foresight that made him to raise the deadliest enemies of his kind as his servants, and when he was Raziel grown wings, it was not jealousy, but recognization that made him cast Raziel into the abyss. Those wings were the sign for him he was waiting for centuries, since he had to face his dilemma as Balance Guardian whether to sacrifise himself to let new guardians born...but it'd meant the annihilation of his race, and humans would take over the Pillars, but as they're incompetent to serve, peace in Nosgoth wouldn't be long. But if Kain would choose preserving his life, he'd cause the eternal damnation of the Pillars, and the land cannot be healed. His only chance was to stay alive, and wait for the third option that makes him possible to save his own kind, and restore the land. Raziel served him the solution, he cast him into the abyss because Raziel had to became a wraith to be able to take the role the ancients prophesized to him.

After being cursed to became vampires, the ancients forged the reaver blade, and they believed it'll bring their salvation (perhaps they believed it can undo their curse too? Both vampirism and immortality) neither of them wielded it, it was forged to the Scion of Balance only. But it was not completed, it still needed a soul.
Kain was the only vampire who wielded the reaver, and the Elder God surely knew it well what it meant as he was looking at the Scion mural every day in the ancients citadel. He hated Kain since then, and perhaps was afraid of him too and did everything to get him killed before he could claim his role.
The Elder just profited on Raziel's rage, and fueled it more to make him being aware of nothing else, but to destroy Kain, and also made him believe Kain's death will restore Nosgoth.

Elder God:
"Kain destroyed you without a flicker of remorse.
He tore the soul from your noble corpse, and after you had served him faithfully for a thousand years, he discarded you in the Abyss on a jealous whim.
Remember your rage, Raziel - let it guide your hand. " (quote from Soul Reaver)

Raziel (to Kain) :
"You are the reason this land becomes diseased - as long as you remain alive you condemn Nosgoth to an eternity of decay." (quote fron Soul Reaver2)

The fight between Kain and Raziel brings only tragedy: they should be allies for the same purpose, and not enemies, and if one of them falls, the other will lose everything they fought for: no hope remains to restore Nosgoth, and give it's defense back against the invasion of the hylden and other species taking over the land.
Kain didn't wanted to fight, but couldn't reason with Raziel. When he was defeated, and considered to be dead, the truth was revealed to Raziel

Elder God:
"Do not forego my favor with your impertinence, Raziel. You have finally fulfilled your purpose. I am pleased."
Raziel:
"What are you trying to obliterate here, then? What is it about me that has you so afraid?"
(Three murals decorate the Forge. In the center is an image of Kain, although he has been depicted with the black wings and blue skin of the Ancients - a representation of what they expected their Scion of Balance to look like. )
Elder God: (chuckling)
"Your fate is trivial, Raziel. It was Kain's destiny that mattered all along. " (quote from Dark Chronicle's Defiance section)

Janos/Hylden Lord:
"You pathetic creature - you haven't got a clue. The seduction of the Circle and possession of Mortanius; Ariel's murder; the corruption and collapse of the Pillars: all orchestrated as a prelude to this moment. We sought an incorruptible vessel, and you provided one. We required the blood of our ancient enemy, and you delivered Janos Audron - having first been lured to the Heart of Darkness. Best of all, you murdered the Scion of Balance to get it. We've already won. " (quote from Defiance)

(Now I see what I missed a lot from my previous submission: Ranting!!!!! :XD: )

'Look at the moon.
How strange the moon seems!
She is like a woman rising from a tomb.
She is like a dead woman..
One might fancy she was looking for dead things...

Oh my God! This is, it's just super" I love Kain's pose, and he's super delicious as always.
I think everyone misread those murals, both depicted battles took place, and in the end somthing changed, and Kain was strong enough to survive death. But alas, he couldn't change fate, but he had a damn good try!

The idea to propose a description of the game and of his history can help those that do not know it, for better to apprehend it and to appreciate it. An ingenious idea on your part.

Your drawing is all simply excellent and the pencil game, perfect!

This is amazing. You've captured them both magnificently.
I think I'll make my sister read your artist's description. Maybe then she'll understand their situation a bit better.

Woooo! Raziel!

And as already mentioned, you drew him magnificently! :D

But even though it's wonderful to get to see him (and also, the Soul Reaver blade!) in a picture of yours, he shouldn't get all the glory. Your young Kain is amazing as always, and together they combine into sheer awesome...as always. ;)

Now paint it! :D Uh....please!
